On November 19th, the China Shipbuilding Industry System Engineering Research Institute, a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, held the groundbreaking ceremony for the China Shipbuilding Marine Equipment Technology Innovation Industrial Base (Phase I) at the Daxing Biomedical Industry Base in Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, Beijing. Qian Jianping, member of the Party Group and Deputy General Manager of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, and Yang Beibei, Deputy District Mayor of Daxing District, Beijing, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.

Qian Jianping first congratulated the groundbreaking of the marine equipment technology innovation industry base and expressed gratitude to the Daxing District Committee and Government for their strong support to the reform and development of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation for a long time. He stated that currently, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) is adhering to the requirements of high-quality development, always keeping in mind its development mission and responsibility of serving the national strategy, supporting national defense construction, and leading industry development. It actively builds four major industrial sectors: marine defense equipment industry, shipbuilding and offshore engineering equipment industry, marine technology innovation and application industry, and shipbuilding and offshore engineering service industry, striving to build a world leading marine technology industry group. This has laid a solid foundation for CSIC to further deepen its comprehensive strategic cooperation with Daxing District. At the same time, the strategic plan of building a "science and technology innovation center and international exchange center" in the positioning of Beijing's "four centers" provides strong policy support for China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation to develop the marine equipment science and technology innovation industry. Next, we hope that the System Engineering Research Institute and CSSC Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. will conscientiously implement the military civilian integration development strategy, actively implement the high-quality development strategy outline of CSSC Group, accelerate integration into the regional development of Daxing District, further strengthen and expand the marine equipment industry cluster, work together to create an industrial development platform for deep military civilian integration, and create a new chapter of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.

Yang Beibei congratulated the establishment of the Marine Equipment Technology Innovation Industrial Base in Daxing. She stated that under the functional positioning of "three districts and one gateway", Daxing District has become a battlefield for Beijing to develop high-precision and cutting-edge industries. As a key national military enterprise, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) has settled the CSIC Marine Equipment Technology Innovation Industrial Base in Daxing, setting a demonstrative benchmark for promoting the development of the real economy and the construction of innovative industrial clusters in Daxing District. In the future, Daxing District will create a favorable investment environment for China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and promote further cooperation between the two sides.

The CSSC Marine Equipment Technology Innovation Industrial Base covers a total area of approximately 300 acres (200000 square meters) and is committed to building a marine equipment characteristic industrial park that integrates high-end manufacturing, system integration, data operation services, navigation industry, and supporting facilities. Among them, the first phase of the project covers an area of 70.9 acres (47300 square meters), and the construction content includes a marine equipment supporting industrial park, a general aviation industrial park, and a global operation service industrial park. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed and put into use in September 2020.
