Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the China Federation of Industrial Economics jointly announced the list of the third batch of manufacturing industry single champion enterprises and single champion products. Among them, Jiangsu Yaxing Anchor Chain Co., Ltd., which is deeply involved in the field of anchor chains (mooring chains), has been identified as a single champion demonstration enterprise; The ship ballast water treatment system of Qingdao Shuangrui Marine Environment Engineering Co., Ltd. and the shore container crane of Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. have both been identified as single champion products. Two departments require that local industrial and information technology authorities, industrial economic federations, and relevant industry associations strengthen their services and support for enterprises, guide enterprises to focus on innovation, product quality improvement, and brand building in segmented product fields, support the growth of "specialized, refined, unique, and new" enterprises into manufacturing industry champions, and cultivate world-class enterprises with global competitiveness.

On March 21, 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Implementation Plan for the Special Action of Cultivating and Improving Manufacturing Single Champion Enterprises" (hereinafter referred to as the "Implementation Plan"), aiming to cultivate global manufacturing single champion enterprises, enhance their professional capabilities and levels, break through the shortcomings in key areas of manufacturing, promote the overall development of the industry towards the middle and high end of the global value chain, and further promote the high-quality development of China's manufacturing industry. root

According to the relevant requirements of the Implementation Plan, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the China Federation of Industrial and Information Technology will publish the final list of manufacturing industry champion enterprises and champion products through procedures such as self declaration by enterprises, recommendation by local industrial and information technology authorities, industrial and economic federations, central enterprises, limited condition demonstration by industry associations, expert group demonstration, and online publicity.

As of now, the two departments have released three batches of lists. In January 2017, the first batch of manufacturing industry single champion demonstration enterprises and cultivation enterprises were announced, and Hangzhou Qianjin Gearbox Group Co., Ltd., which mainly deals with ship propulsion systems, was selected as a manufacturing industry single champion demonstration enterprise; In December 2017, the list of the second batch of manufacturing industry single champion enterprises and single champion products was announced, and the shipbuilding industry won a total of 5 manufacturing industry single champions. It is worth noting that the second batch of lists included the category of champion products in the manufacturing industry. In the second batch of lists, Hudong Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, which specializes in low-speed diesel engines for ships, has been identified as a single demonstration enterprise in the manufacturing industry; The Cape of Good Hope bulk carrier of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., the dual fuel liquefied ethylene gas carrier of Jiangnan Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., the medium range transport (MR) product oil tanker of Guangzhou Shipbuilding International Co., Ltd., and the engineering (work) ship of CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. have all been identified as the single champion products in the manufacturing industry.
